Activities for you here at Crater Bay Cottages

Boat Cruise

A Boat Cruise to the islands this includes a guide who will take you for a two hour cruise.

Within these two hours you can visit about 4-5 islands. Namely Bushara Island, well known for its beautiful bird species and vegetation and tall trees, this Island also has a restaurant, a very quiet environment.

Kyahugye Island with Zebras, Waterbucks, Antelopes and Monkeys. The Island also has a restaurant.

Bushara Island also known as Leprosy Island has villages, schools and hospitals you can visit and experience the life of the people living on this Island.

We would recommend visiting a school because most of the students and pupils in these schools are orphans and having a difficult back ground, so donating a pen, pencil or book would put a smile on their face and encourage them to work harder for a better future and hope.

Other Islands include Punishment Island, Prison Island where unmarried young women who got pregnant out of wedlock were put to starve, or die while swimming back to their homes.

Bucuranuka Island also known as upside down Island. Kyabahinga known as “Island of the View” whereby you hike for about twenty minutes to the view point where you get a beautiful panoramic view of the islands here on Lake Bunyonyi and a nice view of Mountain Muhabura found in Kisoro district.

The cost for the boat cruise is 40 dollars for a boat.
